Awesome vibe and ambience with the decor and music! Food was so good! no seasoning needed. I had the pastilles, like empanadas but crisper with meat filling. Pork belly with mashed plantains was so flavorful! chicken broth on side.Chicken sandwich with cheese, little burger sliders, guava pastry for dessert with a latte. The spread was served quickly and hot.We ordered via our phones QR scan. Napkins and water are self service. Sangria was stong, not watered down.I felt like I was in Puerto 🇵🇷 Rico😊I will definitely be coming back. My new fave in DC!
Not for us. Not a Restaurant but a Cafe where you need to pay in advance. No servers that take order. Away from traditional flavors. Re-fried tostones 🫣. In my opinion expensive. Bistec $30!
Once again, service is top notch. Host are very eager to help, food amazing as usual. Location is everything nice walk to see en enjoy the Potomac River.
Let me start off by saying the food was delicious! Seasoned very well! Only thing I don’t like is the ordering part. It’s barely any interaction with the waiters. Everything is online! Other than that the food was very very good. I was so shocked . I would def come back. It’s very affordable . I wish they would offer substitutes. I had to order a side of season rice because my main dish came with white rice .
The staff were nice and the food was great.
The Tripleta sandwich was good but not something I would order again as other choices sound better. The amarillos (fried plaintains) were excellent and looked to be an entire plantain.
Tripleta - Sliced rib eye, pork butt, and ham topped with melted swiss cheese, sliced tomato, chopped garlic and sauteed onions on pan de agua with mayo-ketchup
Amarillos - Fried sweet plantain
A pineapple & mango non-alcoholic smoothie (forgot the name).
Wow! That's all I can say after experiencing this amazing place. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch, deserving of a 5-star rating. If I had the option, I would give them even more stars. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
The food is amazing. My family is from Puerto Rico, I go every year, and this is some of the best Puerto Rican food I’ve ever had. So flavorful, well seasoned and complex flavors. Our group had: the jibarito sandwich with steak which was soooooo good. The octopus salad, the pastelillos, the bistec encebollado, and mofongo. Each of these was soooo yummy. One of the business partners was super kind and even gave us free dessert.
Not-so-great parts:
The service staff is mediocre. The young guy who was waiting the tables was the most professional one. The other two waitresses were just fine.
Price for mofongo and bistec encebollado are pricey imo.
Beware! If you forget to close out your tab before walking out the door it will charge you 20% for the service which doesn’t match the quality of the service. I think they should have a sign at each of the tables with this policy. It feels very sneaky and not transparent.
Overall food is so good but there is room for improvement.
Ordered from here on UberEats and was very pleased with the food. After reading reviews, I decided on the Tripleta, Pastelillos, and a Flan. I was not disappointed with any of the items but the Tripleta was the star -- the bread was fresh and crispy, the beef and pork was well seasoned and not over cooked, and the sweetness from the mayo ketchup perfectly balanced the savory flavors from the beef, pork, and onions. The Pastelillos were good but pretty heavy. And the flan was tasty but I wasn't a huge fan of the mango coulis topping -- it was a bit too tart for my pallette.
